Guide

Accompanied Day 4 to Day 11 by a local English speaking tour guide/ Egyptologist. Extensions not escorted but assistance is provided by our local representative.

Prices include breakfast in Cairo and breakfast, lunch and dinner on board the MS Sun Ray. Breakfast is included in Luxor and Sharm el Sheikh on the extension. ACCOMMODATION

GRATUITIES
In Egypt we recommend small amounts are given regularly. For guides and boat crew we recommend tipping at the end of your cruise/tour.
TRAVEL TIPS

We would recommend taking a sun hat and glasses and a few jumpers especially during the winter months of December, January and February. A camera is a must.

DAY 1 CAIRO

Upon arrival transfer to Le Meridien Pyramids in Cairo for three nights in a Deluxe City Room.

DAY 4 CAIRO TO LUXOR
Fly from Cairo to Luxor. Embark your ship the MS Sun Ray and overnight in Luxor.

DAY 5 LUXOR
Early morning visit to the East Bank, see the magnificent temples of Karnak and Luxor, built in honour of the Egyptian sun god Amun Ra. In the afternoon visit the Dendera Temple by coach. Overnight in Luxor.

DAY 6 LUXOR TO EDFU
This morning visit the West Bank and see the Colossi of Memnon who once guarded the Mortuary Temple but now stands alone. Visit the Valley of the Kings and Queens with temples still covered in original paintings and colours. Make a stop at the Temple of Hatshepsut, the only female pharaoh. Overnight in Edfu.

DAY 7 EDFU TO ASWAN
Sail to Kom Ombo, a unique double temple dedicated to Sobek and Haroeris, set on a beautiful site on the banks of the Nile. Continue sailing to Aswan for a visit to the Nubian Museum. Overnight in Aswan.

DAY 8 ASWAN
After breakfast marvel at the High Dam, an amazing feat of engineering built to provide electricity for rural areas of Egypt. Visit an ancient quarry to see an obelisk, broken during carving. Finally, visit the Philae Temple, dedicated to the Goddess Isis, located on a small island on the Nile. Overnight in Aswan.

DAY 9 ASWAN
Today is free for you to explore Aswan or alternatively an optional excursion (at extra cost) by air to Abu Simbel to see the temple built by Ramses II. Moved to save it from flood waters, visitors can explore the temples and have a chance to stand at the feet of the colossal statues of Ramses II, which are over 20 feet high. This afternoon enjoy a relaxing felucca ride, the traditional boat used to sail on the Nile. Overnight in Aswan.

DAY 10 ASWAN TO LUXOR
Set sail for Luxor and stay overnight.

DAY 11 LUXOR
After breakfast disembark and transfer to the airport for your return flight, or choose to extend your stay.

DAY 1
Board the MS Sun Ray and follow the itinerary opposite (Day 3 onwards).

DAY 8
Transfer to the Steigenberger Nile Palace for three nights in a Cityview Room.

DAY 11
Fly to the Red Sea and the Stella di Mare for three or more nights in a Standard Room.

DAY 14
Depart for your onward journey.
