The Western desert offers fascinating landscapes, ancient relics and remote villages, largely undiscovered by tourists. Experience oases, the wind sculpted White Desert and see the Golden Mummies on this fascinating journey which includes an overnight stay in a desert camp.
TOUR INCLUDES → Based on 2 sharing. Including breakfast and dinner. Lunch is served at the desert camp on Day 2), transfers in a 4x4 and an accompanying English speaking guide throughout.
DAILY departures from Cairo
DAY 1 → Drive to the Bahariya Oasis with its moon-like landscape and visit the museum of the Golden Mummies, Qasr Selim and Bennuti Tombs. Journey to the highest point of the oasis to enjoy the sunset. Overnight at the Palm Village hotel or similar.
DAY 2 → Drive to the White Desert and see the incredible Black Mountain and Crystal Mountain. Stay overnight in a desert camp.
DAY 3 → Continue to Farafra Oasis for a short visit to a hot water spring then on to Dakhla Oasis. Visit the Temple of Del El Hagar and the picturesque village of El Qasr. Stay overnight at the Desert Lodge Hotel.
DAY 4 → The following day visit the small village of Balat before heading to Kharga, the most southerly Oasis and the temple of Hibis and Tombs of Bagawat. Stay overnight in a hotel or desert camp.
DAY 5 → Continue on to Luxor.
