Harlequin Performing Arts Academy

No previous experience is needed for the Harlequin Performing Arts Academy – just a love of musical theatre and a desire to perform and have fun. There are singing and dance classes for both adults and children over six; but for the real musical theatre experience, join a Master Class. The Master Class lasts four days and combines acting, singing and dance, from the rehearsal stage to a grand final performance of songs from the West End and Broadway's best-loved shows.

Master class in musical theatre

Designed for both children and adults, learn the skills to perform on stage and gain experience behind the scenes of a production. Led by both West End and Broadway performers from musicals including Phantom of the Opera, Wicked, Les Misérables and Hairspray, you'll be encouraged to develop your talents during this four-day course, with a three-hour lesson each day.

Enjoy professional coaching in dance, singing and acting and work towards a grand final performance of songs from West End and Broadway shows in front of an audience.

Children have to be over 10 and there is a maximum of 20 people per session so book in advance to secure your place. The four-day master class costs £145 ($225) per person.

Singing lessons

Private lessons and group workshops are available for singers of all abilities, led by professional coaches. Experienced singers can benefit from training by West End and Broadway professionals, who will happily share their knowledge and experience, with lessons including microphone work and recording techniques.

Technique dance classes

Group dance classes and private lessons are available for both adults and children over six, and are available for dancers of all abilities. Learn styles such as musical theatre, hip hop, jazz, contemporary and modern ballet. No previous experience is necessary, just lots of energy and the desire to dance. Hour-long group workshops will have a maximum of 10 people and cost £22.50 ($35). Private lessons last 45 minutes and cost £45 ($70).
