Anantara Quy Nhon Villas

Whispered luxury

Castaway on a remote beach, just 26 private villas sit within lush foliage, mere steps from a gently lapping ocean.

Overlooked by three mountains on the Bay of Quy Nhon, Anantara Quy Nhon Villas is a blissfully quiet escape. Tai chi on the beach and yoga at dawn neatly encapsulates the wellness-first approach here — but don’t expect any disapproving glances if you simply choose to relax and indulge throughout your entire stay. Spread over seven acres and facing a secluded cove, days can be spent around your private pool, perhaps enjoying delicious Vietnamese street food served by your villa host. When you’re ready to emerge from your sanctuary, you can venture out to explore the nearby ruins, fishing villages, and uninhabited islands that lie just off the coast.

The closest dining options out of the resort are about nine miles away, but thankfully, the options at Anantara are excellent. There’s one main restaurant where you’ll dine most often, but for special occasions or to try something different, the resort has thought of creative ways to mix up your experiences, from picnics on the beach street food served in your villa to private candlelit dinners in secluded settings.

A path through the jungle leads to the resort’s spa — you’ll probably catch an enticing waft of lemongrass and ginger before it comes into view. There are three cliffside treatment pavilions, along with a dedicated Thai massage pavilion close to the ocean. Indoor treatment suites and a couple’s treatment suite are also available, plus a nail and hair salon and a yoga and meditation deck.

Along a wide choice of spa treatments, there are healing therapies on offer here. Options include Reiki from a certified practitioner, sound healing and crystal healing. There’s also a choice of yoga styles to try.

The resort can arrange excursions to Bai Dua beach and Hon Seo island — the perfect location for snorkelling and diving.

Children are welcome here, but you won’t find all the bells and whistles that other more family-orientated resorts offer. The spa offers some lovely options for little ones to be included in this relaxing getaway, including gentle massages and family mindfulness sessions. Kids can also take part in junior cooking classes take and learn how to practice Viet Vo Dao – a form of martial arts native to the province.
