Botania Relais & Spa
Enveloped in ancient olive trees and fragrant herbs
This charming small resort is set above a sheltered bay and has an irresistibly soothing atmosphere.
Nature has a starring role at Botania Relais & Spa, most notably in the profusion of holm oaks and native flowers that fill the three-acre grounds. In this serene small resort, you barely notice the buildings, with their white-washed and volcanic rock walls and flat roofs, so sensitively does their Mediterranean-influenced design sit within the landscape. No matter where you look, from the stone paths to the top of the tallest palms, everything seems in perfect harmony. And even with your eyes closed, there are scented sea breezes and gentle bird song to soothe your spirits.

Rooms
Scattered around the grounds in white-washed villas barely visible above the treeline, the 40 rooms and suites are decorated in a fresh, contemporary style: think white walls, pale tiled floors and artful splashes of colour. Even the lead-in Superior Rooms are impeccably designed, with clean-cut designer furniture, lots of light and an inviting terrace fringed by plants. Premium Rooms are a little more generous in size, both inside and out, and some of them have a bathtub as well as a shower. For even more space, the Junior Suite Jacuzzi has a living area with a sofabed and a well-equipped terrace with a jet tub.

Facilities
Many of the ingredients used in the two restaurants, one of which is vegetarian, are grown in the resort’s own organic plots. Outside the bars and ground-floor rooms are stone terraces fringed with huge terracotta pots of local greenery to perfume the air.
Il Corbezzolo Botania’s airy restaurant is where you can enjoy your morning coffee with pastries, home-made breads and jams, and the sound of birdsong. Return at the end of the day for light, refined cuisine that blends innovation and local cooking traditions.
Il Mirto Il Mirto has an exclusively vegetarian and vegan menu with a focus on creativity and on local and seasonal produce. Dine à la carte or take your tastebuds on a journey of discovery with the eight-course tasting menu.
La Grotta Set in a tufa cave, La Grotta has an impressive wine list, clean-cut contemporary furnishings and a thoroughly grown-up atmosphere.
Iris Bar Set in a pavilion by the pool,The Iris Bar's plant-dotted terrace is a scenic spot for a leisurely cocktail.
Nona Maria Nonna Marì serves simple dishes showcasing the history and traditions of local cuisine set on a hillside with a delightful terrace surrounded by forest and with stunning views.
Il Corbezzolo restaurant has a relaxed Mediterranean ambience, whether you’re here for breakfast under the pergola or an evening meal overlooking the pool. The focus is on the freshest of ingredients, many of them organic and grown on the property.

Our Openair spa in the belvedere grove offers an oasis of relaxation nestled in nature. With two mini pools with spring water, a gym, a sauna, and outdoor spaces with single and large loungers, guests can rejuvenate and enjoy a luxurious experience in the greenery. The mood-enhancing treatments in the spa – where thermal springs bubble up into a natural tufa cave – are based on plant essences and essential oils. There are five types of hydromassage and a Turkish bath. Ingredients used for treatments are natural, and free of alcohol and animal fats.
Yoga sessions are held amongst nature in the fragrant gardens. For a change of palette, the dazzling blue sea and shimmering gold beach at San Montano are a short walk or even shorter shuttle-hop away.
The pool is of a generous size and heated at a constant 28 degrees centigrade. Not far from the resort are the thermal springs of Negombo. To explore Ischia's coastline, boat and gulet rentals can be arranged.
