Sri Lanka Wellness Suggested Itinerary

Each of the four beautiful resorts you’ll experience is architecturally striking and offers a different facet of wellness, from yoga and martial arts to hydrotherapy and Ayurveda.

Health and well-being in tranquil surroundings

Check off must-see locations in Sri Lanka while dedicating plenty of time to relaxing. First, you’ll revel in the incredible surroundings at an award-winning eco-retreat, but there’s also lots to do in the area to set the scene and get to know Sri Lanka’s heritage. Day trips are made simple thanks to a private car and driver during your time in Sigiriya. As you ease further into your trip, slow the tempo as you experience the excellent hydrotherapy facilities at Santani Wellness Resort & Spa near Kandy before switching to the holistic mind, body, and soul approach at Glenross Living – both sensationally beautiful locations on your trip. A final stop at Haritha Villas + Spa near Hikkaduwa connects you with an Ayurvedic doctor to learn and benefit from this approach to well-being.

Days 1-4

Sigiriya

When you arrive in Sri Lanka, you’ll be met by a driver who will be available to you for the next seven days. After a four-hour journey from the airport, you’ll check into Jetwing Vil Uyana, an eco-retreat that’s gained notoriety for its excellent sustainability credentials. There’s a blissful tranquillity here, perfect for easing you into your wellness break. The spa is open 12 hours daily, with massage and treatment rooms and a plunge pool. However, you’re in a wonderful location to explore the area's highlights, including the Sigiriya Rock Fortress and Dambulla Cave Temple. A jeep safari in Minneriya also comes highly recommended.

Days 5-7

Kandy

Your driver will take you on the three-hour trip south to Kandy, where you’ll check into the architecturally striking Santani Wellness Resort & Spa. You have three days to relax in the hydrotherapy suite and open-air thermal soaking pool with paddy field views. Try the latest Ayurvedic techniques (you’ll have the chance to try them again later in the trip), and start and end your day with yoga.

Days 8-9

Kalutara

On the five-hour journey from Kandy to Kalutara, stop for a half-day tour of Kandy. Then, the striking views from Glenross Living await. Your time here focuses on your physical, mental, and emotional well-being. It’s less spa focussed (although there are treatment rooms for massages), with more meditation and mindfulness and the chance to learn angampora, an ancient martial art.

Days 10-13

Hikkaduwa

A private transfer takes you on the 90-minute journey to your final stop – Haritha Villas + Spa. Almost entirely hidden by greenery, the Haritha Spa takes a holistic approach to wellness that includes a consultation with the resident Ayurvedic doctor. There’s a dedicated pavilion for morning yoga overlooking the lake, or you can join a meditation session at the local monastery.
