There’s a short but carefully curated menu of therapies, which includes Sri Lankan herbal massages based on Ayurvedic principles, toning coffee body scrubs and facials for men. There is a modern, well-equipped fitness room, which is open from early until late.

Take a fascinating boat safari along a network of historic canals built by the Dutch, visit the local fish market to buy your ingredients for a cooking lesson with one of the hotel chefs, immerse yourself in nature at the Muthurajawela wetland or enjoy a guided tour of Negombo’s churches and temples.

The hotel doesn’t have its own boat house, but Negombo Beach is home to a wide choice of established suppliers from whom you can rent anything from windsurfers and kayaks to jet skis.

The hotel has achieved Travelife Gold certification for its sustainable, ethical practices.
