Mystique Holbox by Royalton

Time to discover an island with a slower rhythm

Enjoy the natural setting, unspoilt beach and laid-back vibe at this boutique hotel.

Thatch-roofed buildings and natural design elements, a sun-kissed unspoilt shoreline and personalised service set the tone at this boutique haven on the stunning Isla Holbox. We love the Yum Balam Reserve setting of the Mystique Holbox; you’re never too far away from the wonders of nature. Vibrant flamingos flock in the shallow coastal wetlands nearby, whale sharks bask in the surrounding waters between May and September and microorganisms sporadically create otherworldly bioluminescent displays where the waves wash the shoreline. Board a kayak, head out on scuba diving adventures or hire a bike to make the most of your unique location.

Why we love Mystique Holbox by Royalton

  • Book a white tipi (at extra cost) on the beach as a unique alternative to the traditional sun lounger.

  • It’s just a five minute walk to the pier, a famed spot for viewing the island’s liquid gold sunsets.

  • Ground Floor Swim Out Suites give you direct access to the main pool.

  • Presidential Oceanfront Suites feature a huge terrace and superb Caribbean views.

Fuel your days at the Fresco Bar & Grill, a casual restaurant where you can dine al fresco or up on the open-air terrace as the sea breeze cools you. Fresh fish and grilled dishes are the mainstay of the menu, but there are also soups, salads, pizzas and pastas. If you’re a fan of seafood, the lobster here is a must: try it in a Caesar salad, on a pizza or just as it comes: straight from the grill.
