Day 1 London/Madrid/Buenos Aires

Iberia flight from Heathrow via Madrid to Buenos Aires, arriving the following day.

Day 2 to Day 3 Buenos Aires

Arrive and transfer to the Hilton Buenos Aires for two nights, offering time to explore Argentina’s colourful and vibrant capital city. B.

Day 4 to Day 5 Buenos Aires/Ushuaia

Fly south to Ushuaia, the world’s most southerly city. Two nights at the first class Los Yamanas hotel, located outside of the city with views over the Beagle Channel. B.

Day 6 Cruise

Embarkation of the M/V Antarctic Dream and evening departure from port. B,D.

Day 7 to Day 8 Cruise

Cruise through the Drake Passage where the cold polar waters sink beneath the warmer waters of the more temperate zone. B,L,D.

Day 9 Cruise

Visit to King George Island, the largest of the South Shetland Islands where you have the opportunity to disembark at Potter Bay. Continue to Aitcho Island. B,L,D.

Day 10 Cruise

Land at Necko Bay, your first stop on the Antarctic mainland. As well as the spectacular scenery, there is also abundant wildlife to watch out for including blue-eyed shags, cape petrels, weddell crabeaters, leopard seals, orcas and humpback whales. Much of the wildlife has no history of being hunted so is unafraid of human presence. B,L,D.

Day 11 Cruise

Sail south through the dramatic cliffs of the Lemaire channel. Disembark at Petermann Island, the southernmost point of your itinerary and home to colonies of Gentoo and Adelei penguins. Zodiac ride to see the ice formations. B,L,D.

Day 12 Cruise

Head north to Paradise Bay where again there is time to explore the spectacular surroundings by zodiac. This evening visit the rocky Cuverville Island, an island of dramatic scenery and home to a large Gentoo penguin colony. B,L,D.

Day 13 Cruise

Sail on to Deception Island, the largest active volcano in the area where there is the opportunity for a swim in the thermal waters. B,L,D.

Day 14 to Day 15 Cruise

Return crossing of the Drake Passage. B,L,D.

Day 16 Cruise/Buenos Aires

Disembark at Ushaia and return flight to Buenos Aires. Overnight at Kempinski Park Central. B.

Day 17 Buenos Aires/Madrid/London

Overnight flight on Iberia via Madrid to Heathrow. B.
