We’ve also spoken to some of our Australia and New Zealand travel experts so they could share some of their incredible first-hand experiences.
Australia Highlights Tour
This 12 night tour is perfect for those new to the land down under, visiting the diverse cities of Sydney, Melbourne and Cairns, as well as cultural highlights Uluru and Alice Springs. You'll also experience the incredible wildlife and vistas of The Great Barrier Reef.
Also known as Ayers Rock, this monolithic wonder towers over the red desert landscape at almost 3000ft at its peak. If you’re lucky enough to witness the giant rock at sunrise and sunset, you’ll notice the change in the amazing shades of rusty orange and red due to the iron content of the sandstone. The site is of sacred importance to the Aṉangu people, the aboriginal Australians, and you will get to hear their stories on this tour first-hand.
“The contrast of the parched orange ground against an amazing blue sky was stunning!”
Mary Janiec - Kuoni Solihull
Sydney Harbour Bridge
This impressive feat of engineering, nicknamed The Coat Hanger, is the focal point of Sydney’s historical harbour, and was the world’s widest bridge when it opened after 9 years of construction in 1932. You will get fabulous views of the structure on your harbour cruise on this tour. During your free time, why not show off your adventurous side and join the Bridge Climb, one of the city's largest attractions. Imagine climbing to the top of the bridge, looking down at the water 440 ft below you!
“Climbing Harbour Bridge is one experience I will never forget. As I slowly approached the top, the sun was setting over the opera house; a perfect moment!”
Rebecca Ryder – Kuoni Leeds
East Coast Islands & Rainforest Tour
Discover the true diversity of the Australian continent on this 10 day tour of varied experiences. From lush rainforests to glorious coral reefs, via deserted islands and a wealth of indigenous wildlife, there’s something for everybody.
The Great Barrier Reef
On the north eastern corner of Australia lays the largest coral reef on the planet. It's over 130,000 square miles which, to put it in perspective, is larger than the combined area of the UK and Ireland. But it’s not just its size; its bio-diversity is such that it houses over 2000 different species of bird, fish, reptile and mammal. Explore the waters with your snorkel during your free time, or take advantage of the experienced dive schools and go deeper.
“A day out to the reef is a must. The expert guides helped discover many species of coral and spectacular colourful fish”
Daisy Chillingworth – Kuoni Aberdeen
The Whitsunday Islands
At the heart of the Great Barrier Reef lie the 74 island wonders that make up the famous Whitsundays, one of the world’s most popular yachting destinations. Sailing from Airlie beach, you will witness the beautiful bays, glorious beaches and lush rainforests of these islands before settling on the stunning Hamilton Island, where you can enjoy the island’s restaurants and activities, or simply just relax by the pool.
“Cruising The Whitsundays was absolute bliss! Lying on deck looking up, you become aware just how amazing the star flooded night sky is.”
Pam James– Kuoni Bristol
The Long White Cloud Tour
Experience the full majesty of New Zealand on this 3 week inspiring journey. Witness unique natural wonders like magnificent fjords, bubbling mud pools, glaciers, and thermal springs, and visit diverse towns like Wellington, Auckland, and Queenstown.
Lying on the crystal clear shores of Lake Wakatipu, surrounded by epic mountainous backdrop, Queenstown is quite a remarkable sight; a perfect spot for a rejuvenating spa treatment or a relaxing round of golf. Alternatively, you can take advantage of its reputation as New Zealand’s adventure capital. Spend your free time canoeing, snowboarding, bungy jumping, even canyon swinging.
“Queenstown not only known has spectacular views, it’s an ideal place for all those adrenaline junkies out there!”
Keira Welsted – Kuoni Dorking
Few parts of New Zealand are as culturally rich or naturally beautiful as the North island city of Rotorua. It is known as the heartland of Māori heritage, and this can be seen in the traditional welcome feast (or Hangi) that awaits you when you arrive. The area’s natural beauty was shaped many thousands of years ago by volcanic activity, and it’s legacy remains today in the natural thermal spas and mud pools that are abundant around the city.
“I loved Rotorua! The thermal mud pools, fuelled by geothermal activity, show how incredible Mother Nature is!”
Marysia Branford – Kuoni Brighton
