The largest state in the USA is a land of superlatives; its sheer scale and wild, natural beauty overwhelm the senses like few other places on Earth. Covering an area greater in size than England, France, Spain and Italy combined, it is a fifth of the size of the USA with 17 of its 20 highest mountains, its third longest river, 5,000 glaciers (including one as big as Switzerland!) and vast areas of back country and natural wilderness to explore.

Alaska's largest city lies between the Knik and Turagain arms of Cook Inlet and the rugged Chugach mountains. Anchorage offers a unique blend of spectacular scenery, Russian and native heritage, Alaskan adventure and big city amenities. This year round destination offers endless activities.

A host of outdoor activities include wildlife viewing, nordic and downhill skiing, flights over Mount McKinley, hiking, rafting, or simply enjoying the parks and historic buildings. This compact little city has a pedestrian friendly bustling downtown, with a good selection of bars and restaurants.Anchorage is also noted for its theatres, museums and galleries, many displaying local and cultural art.
